Rotary Club of Grand Cayman launches first ‘Companion Club’ in the region
The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman has officially launched its ‘South Sound Companion Club’, becoming the first Rotary club in the Cayman Islands and wider region to adopt this innovative model, designed to make community service more accessible, flexible and inclusive.
The new club was formally approved by an overwhelming vote of the club’s membership on 16 April, following several months of consultation, outreach and steadily growing interest.
An initiative encouraged by Rotary International, the Companion Club model expands access to Rotary by engaging a broader cross-section of the community, particularly younger professionals, former Rotarians and Rotaractors, and individuals who are passionate about service but unable to participate in a traditional club format due to time or lifestyle commitments.
