Firefighters tackle small fire at George Town landfill
A small fire at the George Town landfill on Wednesday 3 June was extinguished by firefighters and site staff, the Department of Environmental Health has said.
A spokeswoman said the surface fire broke out on the north side of the sprawling site off the Esterley Tibbetts Highway and was detected through routine monitoring.
