Tourist jailed after card skimming kit found in luggage

A 32-year-old man has been jailed after he admitted arriving in Cayman with card skimming equipment.

Magistrates’ Court heard that the man’s luggage was searched after his plane touched down in Grand Cayman and customs officers found electronic equipment and a variety of credit cards and other suspicious items were found hidden among his belongings.

Halid Yuksel Aptula, a Bulgarian national who travelled from the Dominican Republic to Jamaica to the Cayman Islands, was jailed for 18 weeks on Wednesday, July 22. For a more complete summary of the story, please see the below link:
