Cayman swimmers smash records in Glasgow

Team Cayman’s swimmers rewrote the history books through the opening weekend of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Day one began with an immediate splash as swimmer Kyra Rabess smashed the Cayman Islands national record in the women’s 400-metre freestyle, shaving more than two seconds from the previous all-time mark she set just months prior.

Rabess, whose time of 4:19.09 saw her finish third in a heat also featuring teammate Harper Barrowman, described the experience of competing alongside a fellow Cayman on this stage as “nostalgic”. For a more complete summary of the story, please see the below link:
